Professional activities

In 2014, I received the official Instructor Diploma from The Sumie Japan Association, marking an important milestone in my professional career as a teacher of traditional Japanese ink painting.

Today, my educational activities are centred primarily in Europe, where I conduct courses, workshops and lectures in Switzerland, Germany, Poland and Austria. My programmes are presented in museums, cultural institutions, educational centres, meditation houses and through Atelier Margot – International School of Japanese Painting. I also teach regular online classes in Polish and German, while my English-language online programme is currently being further developed.

Alongside teaching, I actively curate international exhibitions and develop cultural projects dedicated to Japanese ink painting. For many years, I have collaborated with the Japanese Information and Cultural Center (JICC) at the Embassy of Japan in Switzerland, curating exhibitions and presenting public lectures that introduce Japanese ink painting to wider international audiences.

As a member of the Noho M55 Gallery in New York—one of the oldest artist-run galleries in the United States—I also participate in an international artistic community that promotes contemporary visual arts across cultures.

My paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Japan and the United States, including exhibitions in Tokyo. Beyond my own artistic practice, I place particular importance on supporting the development of my students. Many of them regularly exhibit at the international Art Beyond Boundaries exhibition at The National Art Center in Tokyo, where they have received numerous prestigious awards.

The year 2026 marked an important new chapter in my artistic career. For the first time, I was invited to conduct sumi-e workshops in Japan for Japanese participants—an experience of particular significance as a European artist devoted to this centuries-old tradition.

In the same year, I also launched my first international sumi-e study journey to Kyoto, bringing together participants from different countries for an immersive programme that combined intensive painting practice with direct encounters with Japanese gardens, temples, traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage. This initiative reflects my commitment to creating meaningful cultural exchange through authentic artistic experience and will continue with an expanded programme and increased frequency from 2027 onwards.

Today, my work extends beyond painting and teaching. It encompasses curatorial practice, international cultural collaboration and educational projects that foster a deeper understanding of Japanese ink painting while encouraging dialogue between artists and audiences across different cultures.
